How Much Does a Car Service to Notre Dame Cost? (Flat-Rate Breakdown)
The Chicago-to-Notre Dame route spans approximately 90 miles via I-90 East (Indiana Toll Road). All pricing is flat-rate per vehicle, not metered.
Cost by Vehicle Type
- Cadillac XTS Sedan (1–3 passengers): Most economical. Comfortable for the 90-minute ride. Ideal for solo travelers, couples, or parents visiting campus.
- Cadillac Escalade SUV (4–6 passengers): Room for the whole family plus luggage, tailgate supplies, or campus move-in gear. Kids comfortable in spacious rear seating.
- Mercedes Sprinter Van (6–14 passengers): Captain’s chairs, room for coolers, tailgate gear, and group seating. The go-to for football game groups and alumni reunion travel.
Round-Trip vs. One-Way Pricing
Round-trip with game-day wait is our most popular Notre Dame booking. Your chauffeur drops you near the stadium, waits through the game (3–4 hours), and is positioned at a pre-arranged pickup point post-game. Round-trip bookings receive preferred pricing vs. two separate one-way trips. For baseline hourly rates, see our limo cost per hour guide.
⚡ Every Notre Dame quote includes chauffeur, fuel, Indiana Toll Road tolls, campus-area parking, and taxes. No hidden fees. Call (773) 575-8169 for your exact quote.
The I-90 Route: Chicago to Notre Dame Mile by Mile
Chicago to Indiana Border (Miles 0–35)
Depart via I-90 East (Jane Addams Tollway to Indiana Toll Road). This segment takes 30–45 minutes depending on Chicago traffic. Rush hour (4–7 PM Friday for Saturday games) adds 15–20 minutes. Suburban pickups from Evanston (add 15 min), Schaumburg (add 10 min via I-90), or Naperville (add 25 min via I-88 to I-90) are seamless.
Indiana Toll Road to South Bend (Miles 35–90)
Open highway at 70 mph across northern Indiana. Minimal congestion except game days when the final 5 miles near campus can add 20–40 minutes. Our chauffeurs know the Angela Boulevard approach avoids the worst congestion on US-31/Indiana 933. Rest stop at mile 60 (LaPorte) is a popular midpoint break. Michigan City outlets (exit 34B) are a popular return-trip stop.
Campus Arrival and Positioning
Your chauffeur navigates the Notre Dame campus drop-off zones: Main Building circle for campus visits, Joyce Center parking for basketball, Stadium/Hesburgh Library area for football. For game days, we pre-coordinate parking at Eddy Street Commons or the designated limo/charter area so your vehicle is within a 5-minute walk post-game.
What a Notre Dame Game Day Trip Actually Looks Like
8:00 AM — Chicago Pickup (Saturday Noon Kickoff)
Chauffeur arrives at your home or hotel 10–15 minutes early. Vehicle detailed, coolers loaded, game gear stowed. Departure 3 hours before kickoff to allow for tailgating.
9:30–10:00 AM — Campus Arrival
Drop-off near the stadium area. Your chauffeur positions the vehicle at the pre-arranged parking zone. Group heads to tailgate lots or campus walk-around.
10:00 AM–12:00 PM — Tailgate
Your group tailgates while your chauffeur waits with the vehicle. No parking stress, no designated driver worries. Sprinter van groups often tailgate from the vehicle itself.
12:00–3:30 PM — The Game
Enjoy the game. Your chauffeur monitors game progress and positions the vehicle 15 minutes before the estimated final whistle.
3:30–4:00 PM — Post-Game Pickup
Text your chauffeur when you’re heading to the pickup point. Vehicle is waiting — no surge pricing, no rideshare chaos, no 45-minute wait in a crowd of 80,000 people heading for the exits simultaneously.
4:00–5:30 PM — Return to Chicago
90-minute return via I-90. Optional stop at Michigan City outlets. Door-to-door drop-off in Chicago. Everyone arrives home safely without highway fatigue.
⚡ For game day departures, we recommend booking 2–4 weeks ahead. Popular games (USC, Michigan, Ohio State) fill early. Call (773) 575-8169 to lock in your date.
Notre Dame Limo vs. Driving vs. Bus Charter — Full Comparison
- Driving yourself: 90 min each way of highway fatigue. $15–25 in tolls. $20–40 game-day parking. Can’t tailgate freely (someone drives home). Wear on your vehicle. For a group of 4: gas + tolls + parking = $60–$90 plus the worst part — driving home tired after a long game day.
- Charter bus: $1,500–$3,000 for 39–56 passengers. Makes sense for alumni groups of 30+. For groups of 4–14, a Sprinter van is more comfortable and far less expensive.
- Rideshare to South Bend: $150–$250 each way via Uber. No guaranteed vehicle. Post-game surge can double the return. No tailgate coordination. Total: $300–$500 round-trip for ONE rider.
- Skyline flat-rate limo: Door-to-door, chauffeur waits through the game, no surge, guaranteed luxury vehicle. For 4–6 people splitting an Escalade: per-person cost beats individual rideshare. For 14 in a Sprinter: per-person cost is a fraction of driving separately.
Beyond Game Day: Campus Visits, Graduation & Corporate Recruiting
Campus Visits and Prospective Student Tours
Parents bringing prospective students for campus tours. Sedan or SUV, round-trip with 2–3 hour campus wait. Your chauffeur drops at the Admissions office (Main Building) and waits. No parking hassle, no GPS confusion on campus.

May graduation is our second most-booked Notre Dame event after football. Families of 4–6 in Escalade SUVs, multi-generational groups in Sprinter vans. We coordinate post-ceremony restaurant transportation in South Bend and the return to Chicago. Book 4–6 weeks ahead for May dates.
Parent Weekend and Family Events
October Parent Weekend, Junior Parents Weekend, and Keenan Revue. Round-trip with flexible campus wait times. Same flat-rate model.
